Day 01: Gorilla trekking Arrival

On arrival for gorilla trekking, you will be welcomed by our company representative who will then transfer you to your Hotel/Guest House in Entebbe for a short relaxation. Depending on your arrival time, you may spend the afternoon, exploring Entebbe Town on foot. You could choose to visit Uganda Wildlife Education Center, or take a half day boat excursion to Ngamba Island on lake Victoria to view orphaned chimpanzee and learn a lot from care takers. Overnight at Central Inn Entebbe on Bed and Breakfast Basis.

 

Day 02: Before gorilla trekking, Transfer to Lake Mburo NP

 An early start will see you arrive at Lake Mburo National Park after a 5-6 drive southwestwards. You will stopover at the Equator for stretching and photography. Enjoy and en route game drive as you enter this small but interesting National Park. After lunch, go for an evening boat cruise on lake Mburo National Park. Dinner and overnight at Sky Blue Motel on Full Board Basis.

 

Day 03: Gorilla Trekking transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early morning transfer to the home of mountain gorillas-The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive is approximately 6-7 hours from Lake Mburo National Park. This journey will take you through several highland area and escarpments before reaching Kihihi town to enjoy your packed Lunch. Proceed for a while arriving in Bwindi in time for Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Communit Bandas on Full Board Basis.

 

Day 04: Gorilla trekking Uganda the whole day

Its gorilla trekking today. With your walking stick, packed Lunch, water and energy giving snacks, you will be led to the Park head quarters for briefing by Uganda Wildlife Guide about what to expect, the dos and the don'ts while with the mountain Gorillas. Start your gorilla trek that might take you from three to eight hours depending on where they could have slept or moved. Observe, photograph these creatures for one hour and retire to Buhoma Community Bandas for Dinner and overnight on Full Board Basis.

 

Day 05: Optional Second Gorilla Trekking or Community Walk

For those who would love to trek gorillas for the second time, this will be the day to do it. You may choose to trek another gorilla family or the same family you tracked a day before. This will definitely depend on the gorilla permit you are holding at the time of booking. If you are not interested in the second gorilla trekking exercise, you may choose to go for a community walk that takes you to Buhoma village to experience the way of life of the surrounding communities. This two-three hour walk takes you to a local home, local brewing center, a herbalist and plantations. Or else you may choose to go for a forest walk or Batwa Cultural experience where they will be willing to practically demonstrate their way of life when they were still living in the forest before it was gazzetted into a national park. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas on Full board basis.

 

Day 06: After trekking gorillas, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

 Early departure to Queen Elizabeth national Park arriving in time for an evening boat trip on Kazinga Channel. This boat trip is the highlight of all activities in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The channel has the highest concentration of hippos in the whole world, has several bird species-over 620 species recorded and so many animals that flock this channel for drinking water. Dinner and overnight at Institute of Ecology on Full Board Basis.

 

Day 07: Game drives

We start with an early morning game drive in search for cats as they retire from hunting. Kasenyi is the based place for this, you may have an opportunity of spotting buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, Uganda kobs and so many animals depending on your luck. We return to the lodge for Lunch before an evening drive to the crater lakes region to observe the impact of faulting and volcanicity on the landscape of this region. Remember that Queen Elizabeth national Park lies on the rift valley floor and on the leeward side of Mountain Rwenzori. Dinner and overnight at Institute of Ecology on Full Board basis.

 

Day 08: Visit Lake Katwe and later transfer to Kibale National Park

As part of our commitment, we endeavor to support the local community by visiting some of the local community development initiatives and to show you how the local communities around the National Park are surviving without having to poach wild animals. You will have a talk from the local guide about salt extraction and how it has improved their way of living. Drive to Kibale approximately 2-3 hours with stopovers for lunch in Fort Portal town. Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori Guest House on Full Board Basis.

 

Day 09: Chimp trekking Kibale N P

You will wake up prepared to go into the forest for your chimp trekking experience. Depending on the chimpanzee permits you will be holding, you may trek in the morning or afternoon. If you trek chimpanzees in the morning, you will then go for the Bigodi sanctuary walk. Dinner and overnight at your Rwenzori Guest House on Full Board basis.

 

Day 10: Gorilla trekking end

Depending on your flight details, you will have an early morning departure to Kampala. Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your next flight out. If you are spending a night over, you will need post tour accommodation either in Kampala or Entebbe.
